Reiki for Better Life

Reiki studies are currently being conducted to show the efficacy of Reiki in not only relieving stress, but also treating pain and many other ailments, especially when used in conjunction with Western based therapies. Reiki can be easily and safely integrated with allopathic approaches. Reiki accesses the body's endocrine system through chakras, the body's energy centers located along the spine which connects all organs and systems, that correlates with a person's emotional and physical well-being

Reiki is a natural method of energy balancing for the purpose of stress reduction and relaxation. It can involve "the laying on of hands" although this is not required for Reiki to be effective.

Published in Cancer Prev Control 1997;1(2):108-13
Purpose: To explore the usefulness of Reiki as an alternative to opioid therapy in the management of pain. This was a pilot study.
Procedure: 20 volunteers experienced pain at 55 sites for a variety of reasons, including cancer. A Level 2 practitioner provided all Reiki treatments. Pain was measured using both a visual analogue scale (VAS) and a Likert scale immediately before and after each Reiki treatment.
Findings: Both the instruments showed a highly significant (p < 0.0001) reduction in pain following the Reiki treatments.
